Welcome Week is a time of celebration and opportunity! Take part in the many activities and events and you’ll be sure to make new friends and learn about how to excel at your University. Don’t miss the weekend activities, full of fun, food and experiences that make you part of the Hawkeye Family. Saturday night’s kickoff event is a great social time, capped off with a shopping trip to Target to get everything to outfit your residence hall room – perfect after move in. Sunday, you become an official member of the Hawkeye family by attending the Convocation and Opening Celebration on the Pentecrest, followed by a Block Party at the Presidential Residence, complete with your favorite coaches and the marching band. As the academic week begins, look for helpful opportunities like the organization and job fair to help you engage in the UI Community. Stretch your culinary senses at our own “Taste of Iowa City” featuring your soon-to-be favorite downtown eateries. Dig in! Welcome Week has many opportunities for you to choose from....
